Lichena Bertinato studied Humanities BA(Hons) at the University of Padua and gradu ated with an experimental thesis on the relationship between writing and photography.
Her visual approach refers to the segment of contemporary photography known as staged or tableau-photography. In her latest project I live here, Bertinato has turned towards an intimate portrayal of her domestic life, with a se ries of isolated and solitary portraits.
The recurring theme is her daily struggle with the lack of space she has been coping with since she has moved to London. The photographs show the ways she employed to fit in the tiny spaces of her house, with touching and comic effects.
