In his constant quest for perfection, Kim Kwan Soo often recreates very similar works. The materials used are natural and come from the woods surrounding his studio.
We warn clients that the final work may slightly differ in the size of the central detail (branches). Natural branches are located at center of canvas and it expands to over the boundary of outside of center. Kim Kwan Soo creates installation to destroy boundary line between nature and painting. His works are showing the relations between the boundary of civilization and nature that stands out. The subject is what we have to overcome and the compromise to survive and co-existing with nature, which is the substance and the reason of our being. The symbolic white birch tree depicts the epic of civilization and that eventually, we must be return to the innocence of nature.
